2007161212.jpgCorteva Agriscience is strengthening its portfolio for soybean culture with the launch of the fungicides, Viovan and Aproach Power, developed after more than 10 years of research.
Culture is fundamental for Brazil, which is the largest soybean producer and exporter in the world, and Corteva always prioritizes the needs of soybean farmers and is continuously investing in innovation to offer the most robust portfolio in the market, through integrated solutions that will achieve high productivity potential.

Both products use the Onmira Active technology, Corteva's strobilurin, which offers a broad spectrum of control of the soybean disease complex. “The launch of the products add control performance against major soybean diseases, through a differentiated formulation that does not need the addition of oil, which is unique to Corteva, increasing the speed of absorption of assets and reducing the risk of being washed away by the rain,” said Marcus Fiorini (Leader of the Corteva Fungicide Portfolio).

The new fungicide, Viovan, which is a combination of two active ingredients, Onmira Active and Protioconazole, controls Asian rust, as well as other diseases, such as target spot, brown spot, cercospora and powdery mildew. The product offers protection with greater selectivity to culture and superior results.

Aproach Power is a systemic fungicide that contains Onmira Active and Cyproconazole, offering flexibility when used for the first and last application. Intended for contorlling Asian rust, brown spot, cercospora and powdery mildew, the product is an evolution of the fungicide, Aproach Prima, with a formulation offering greater convenience and effective and lasting control of diseases.

“Among the factors that significantly reduce soybean productivity are diseases. Asian rust alone is responsible for causing average losses of up to 35% of production while target spot and cercospora have also been major concerns for soybean growers. The new products are planned for launch in all regions, and have proven performance data from the north to south of Brazil,” stated Rogerio Rubin (Corteva Agriscience's Fungicide Research Leader for Latin America).

Champion Management

The new fungicides, Viovan and Aproach Power, together with current fungicide Vessarya and multisites, are part of Champion Management Onmira, Corteva's program for the effective control of soy diseases. Champion Management Onmira has a complete portfolio for any region of the country, with a formulation that eliminates the need for oil, offering more convenience, performance and selectivity.
