UPL launches first mixture of Glufosinate and S-metolachlor herbicide in Brazil

UPL has launched herbicide Lifeline-Sync, the first mixture of Glufosinate and S-metolachlor in the Brazil market for use during the cultivation of soybeans, corn and cotton.

"The technology present in the composition of the product is exclusive, which makes it innovative and effective. Lifeline-Sync does not let the problem arise in the plantation, provides security and peace of mind to the farmer," said Ricardo Dias, Herbicide Manager at UPL Brasil. "The product reinforces our already robust portfolio. Thus, more than resistance management, we are offering total weed management."

Lifeline-Sync is a herbicide with systemic and residual action, recommended for the pre-planting of soybeans, corn and cotton, as well as for the initial post-emergence of weed plants. In addition, the herbicide is also effective for applications between the lines of cotton culture, through the use of jets.

"This new product avoids the loss of productivity due to 'bush competition' during the implantation of the crop, as well as offering excellence in the control of glyphosate-resistant weeds - such as bitter grass and crow's foot. All of this with the benefit that there are no records of resistance to glufosinate," Dias added.

Lifeline-Sync is effective against sourgrass (Digitaria insularis), goosegrass (Eleusine indica), slender amaranth (Amaranthus viridis) and Benghal dayflower (Commelina benghalensis). It is also indicated for the management of Mexican fireplant (Euphorbia heterophylla) and alexandergrass (Brachiaria plantaginea).
