Due to the successful authorization and launch in 2018 of ‘Limocide’, the flagship insecticide, fungicide and acaricide from Vivagro SARL, a new subsidiary, Vivagro Sp. z.o.o., has been established in Poland. Limocide, based on the natural plant extract orange oil, has become widely adopted by Polish growers for use in various IPM programs as an anti-resistance tool in the fight against powdery mildew, psyllid, white fly and mites on apple trees, pear trees, soft fruit and vegetable crops.
The new subsidiary will be headed by Agata Kowakczyk, under the chairmanship of Alain Petersen, with Krysztof Kowakczyk appointed as Sales Manager. Mr Kowakczyk has 7 years experience as an agronomist and specialist in crop protection, bio stimulants and fertilizer products.
Mr Petersen explains: “Growers in Poland, and indeed in Romania and Macedonia, are showing a keen interest in crop protection products derived from natural and sustainable resources, particularly in the fruit and vegetable sectors. Poland is the leading apple producer in Europe, and growers are subject to very strict standards, particularly in relation to pesticide residues. It is in this environment that Vivagro’s naturally based solutions provide an excellent fit, enabling growers to both produce in a sustainable manner and also keep residues to an absolute minimum. To ensure growers obtain the maximum benefit from the use of our products, attention to crop management is vital, along with strong technical support. Therefore, the hiring of a local specialist was deemed necessary to help support the successful introduction of our specialist products.”
