Nertus launched two innovative herbicides in Ukraine in 2021

Nertus Ltd. in Ukraine recently announced a launch of two innovative herbicides in 2021. These products are preemergence selective herbicide Folio™, EC (propisochlor, 580  + flurochloridon, 200) used on sunflowers and selective postemergence herbicide Konvoj ™, WG (tribenuron-methyl 300 g/kg + florasulam 105 g/kg + triasulfuron 95 g/kg) used on cereals. 

These herebicides are an example of successfull coopeartion between the research center PlantClinic® which is in charge of several agronomical field tests and R&D engineering team responsible for product design and technology. The specialists of PlantClinic® collect phytosanitary data from different regions of Ukraine, carry out tests on local crop varieties, types of pathogens, insect species and generations of weeds in order to develop the most suitable and cost-effective products for the local market. 

The product Folio™, EC (propisochlor, 580  + flurochloridon, 200) is an unique pre-emergence systemic herbicide aiming at fighting with annual grasses and dicotyledonous weeds in sunflower.  This pre-emergence herbicide shows stable and high efficiency against wide range of monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds with a very low risk of phitotoxicity for crop itself. Folio™ has no analogues on the market. According to proprietary and governmental trials Folio™ has proven the highest and long-lasting level of protection against such a malicious weed as Ambrosia artemisiifolia L. comparing to reference products.

Konvoj™, WG (tribenuron-methyl 300 + florasulam 105 + triasulfuron 95) is a patented formula of Nertus Ltd. This product is an unique combination of active ingredients, it has wide application window and strong effecacy against widely spread in Ukraine dicotyledonous weeds, as well as against pioneering rapeseed and sunflower (including SUMO and Clearfield varieties) in cereals.

Both products are protected by national patents in Ukraine until 2029 owned by Nertus Ltd.

Previous proprietary products of Nertus Ltd. Are Volens™, ME (acifluorfen 200 + clomazone 42), Resident™, SC (fenpyroximate 120 + pyridaben 300), Sentinel™, EC (propisochlor 576 + metribuzin 60), etc. Volens™, ME  is a selective soybean herbicide which has wide application window, low application rates and wide spectrum of controlled weeds. The product is microemulsion and has high content of surfactants boosting biological efficiency. Resident™, SC (fenpyroximate 120 + pyridaben 300) is the strong contact acaricide applied on sunflower, soybean, vineyards and apple trees. The product is effective against all developing stages and adult mites, it has strong knockdown effect and long residual activity. Due to synergism of compounds and high concentration of active ingredients the product has low application rates. Among other distinctive combinations there is Sentinel™, EC (propisochlor 576 + metribuzin 60), pre-emergence herbicide for sunflower, soybena, corn and peas. 

The R&D team is looking for the best technological solutions to implement the creative ideas of PlantClinic® into a real agricultural practice. From market point of view the company’s challenge is to elaborate technologies for complicated multicomponent innovative products having no analogues globally. Another great task is to select actives, coformulants and mixtures which have the least retardant and phytotoxic effect.
