Hurry Up! Indian Bio-stimulant provisional registration application deadline August 2021

The bio-stimulant regulation in India is recently notified by the government through the official Gazette (Fertilizer (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Amendment Order, 2021). The amendment is called as the Fertilizer (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Amendment Order, 2021.

Fertilizer (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Amendment Order, 2021

The bio-stimulants specified in Schedule VI shall be classified under any of the following categories, namely: (a) botanical extracts, including seaweed extracts; (b) bio-chemicals; (c) protein hydrolysates and amino acids; (d) vitamins; (e) cell free microbial products; (f) antioxidants; (g) anti-transpirants; (h) humic and fulvic acid and their derivatives. 

Every manufacturer or importer of a bio-stimulant shall make an application to the Controller along with the following data relating to such product for specifying it as a bio-stimulant in Schedule VI. 

-  Chemistry 

-  Bio-efficacy Trials 

-  Toxicity 

-  Heavy metal analysis report 

Every manufacturer or importer of a bio-stimulant shall be required to make an application under this new regulation for grant of provisional registration latest by 23rd August 2021 in order to continue to manufacture for sale, sell, offer for sale, stock or exhibit such bio-stimulant for a period of two years from the date of publication of this order. No person shall manufacture or import any bio-stimulant unless such bio- stimulant is included in schedule VI.
