Corteva has reinforced its presence in the coffee segment, with Brazil being the world's largest producer and exporter, by launching the insecticide, Revolux (spinetoram + methoxyfenozide), in the market.

Composed of two new active ingredients, spinetoram and methoxyfenozide, Revolux acts with various modes of action to assist coffee growers in combating the major pest that affects coffee crops, the coffee leaf miner (Leucoptera coffeella), which can cause 50% losses in productivity, especially of leaves that compromise the harvest. The new technology acts throughout the life cycle of the pest, offers translaminar activity and ensures a long period of control, a broad spectrum and an excellent toxicological profile.

“Corteva believes that it can help the coffee sector by launching new technologies that will meet the needs of farmers and increase the productivity and profitability of coffee plantations. We are investing to offer an increasingly complete portfolio to the market,” said Alison Rampazzo (Portfolio Leader for the Café da Corteva Line).

The new insecticide is also intended for use in Integrated Pest Management (MIP), to guarante more sustainable production and the longevity of the technology. Its two active ingredients won the Green Chemistry Award and are endorsed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), for their specific actions on target insects and selectivity of beneficial organisms.

Brazil has been the largest coffee producer for over 150 years, accounting for one third of world’s production. The adoption of better handling and technology in the field guarantees significant improvements to the productivity and quality of Brazilian coffee.
