FMC announces new preplant label for Cadet herbicide

U.S. corn and soybean growers now have an effective answer for preplant and in-crop postemergence control of tough broadleaf weeds. FMC Corporation (NYSE: FMC) recently announced a new broader use label for Cadet herbicide. Cadet now offers the additional benefit of preplant, in addition to early post treatments for greater application flexibility in both corn and soybeans. Applied in a tank mix with glyphosate, Cadet helps to burndown tough broadleaf weeds to get fields ready for planting earlier. This results in better weed control for higher quality crops and yields.

"This newly approved wider application window in corn and soybeans allows for greater flexibility of use. With the new label, Cadet may be applied in soybeans from preplant through the full flowering stage of development (prior to R3 stage). In field corn and popcorn, Cadet may be applied from prior to planting until the corn is 48-inch tall or prior to tasseling, whichever comes first.

This unmatched application flexibility in both corn and soybeans combined with effective control of troublesome broadleaf weeds, makes Cadet an herbicide of first choice for tank mixes with glyphosate. Applied via ground or aerial application equipment, Cadet brings a second mode of action to glyphosate to provide real effective postemergence weed control with no drift concerns in Roundup Ready corn and soybeans, without cupped soybean issues and/or persistence in the soil.

Used pre or early post, Cadet is the ideal choice for controlling velvetleaf and other broadleaf weeds in soybeans, field corn, sweet corn and popcorn.
