Paraguay is the first country in the world where Syngenta has launched Mazen Forte, the new fungicide formulated with solatenol and propiconazole.

According to the manufacturer, the product is positioned to control soybean diseases, especially the dreaded rust, caused by the Phakopsora pachyrhizi fungus.

Syngenta Paraguay stated that Mazen Forte has the two characteristics that a fungicide needs, “The first is Solatenol, which provides preventive control, and the second is propiconazole, which is curative."

Mazen Forte was launched with a virtual meeting in the presence of more than 800 farmers in the country, and local and international reference technicians. “This fungicide is designed in an integral way to be a complete solution, with high performance for rust, but also with control over other diseases, in addition to being flexible and suitable for different agronomic scenarios,” Sygenta Paraguay stated.

The manufacturer highlighted the “guardian” effect, which prevents reinfection of the pathogen, keeping the disease pressure curve low in the most important growth stages of soybeans. “Through a synergy between its assets, it demonstrates superiority versus other products."

"Mazen Forte is going to mark a new concept and a new management standard in soybean diseases," said Marcos Bradley, Syngenta Business Unit Leader for Paraguay and Bolivia.

Industry specialists such as Prof. Fabiano Siqueri, CEO and Consultant of Protecplan; Dr. Marcelo Canteri, technical reference from Brazil; Lucas Navarini, a phytopathologist researcher, and Ing. Wilfrido Morel, a Paraguayan plant pathologist, discussed the benefits of this new tool and how it will be applied for its use on soybeans in Paraguay.

Navarini, one of the most important researchers in Brazil, explained all the alternatives in disease management and spoke about the different types of damage and losses that diseases can cause in soybeans. "Good practices, understanding and correct use of the product are vital to obtain the best results. The most important thing is to use the intervals correctly and preventively,” he added.

Likewise, Siqueri showed an essay in which he validated the superior performance of Mazen Forte against its competitors. The local specialist in phytopathology, Morel, presented a demonstration of the consistency of the product through an experiment carried out to verify the fight against diseases in soybean crops and to compare the correct management of the disease.

“The preventive applications had a positive, optimal and effective result against rust, in different types of climatic conditions, confirms the real effectiveness of Mazen Forte. The fungicide performed excellently, it had a very high control efficiency. This means that the producer has a fundamentally important tool to combat the diseases that attack soybean crops and compromise final productivity,” Morel said.

Antonio Aracre, Syngenta's Managing Director for Latin America South, participated virtually and celebrated the launch of the new product with the announcement of Syngenta Group, a new organization, based in Switzerland that unites Syngenta AG, ADAMA and the agricultural activities of Sinochem.

“This puts us at the forefront of the industry and positions Latin America as the big supplier of food and grains to the world, and in this case, Paraguay as one of the most solid countries for soybean,” he said.
