Syngenta launches rodenticide Klerat Block XT in Spain

Syngenta Spain organized a virtual seminar to present, to its distributors, customers and professionals in the pest control sector, its new rodenticide, Klerat Block XT, which is based on Brodifacoum and registered for domestic use, including in agricultural and livestock. 

Due to new safety regulations covering this type of product, a rodenticide authorized for domestic use must have less than 30 ppm of an active substance, and Klerat Block XT has only 25 ppm for each 20 gram bait.

The active ingredient of Klerat Block XT, Brodifacoum, is the most effective and powerful rodenticide on the market and does not produce any type of resistance, enabling it to be effective in controlling resistance compared to first and second generation rodenticides. To this powerful active material a high quality bait composition must be added, which includes food such as flours, grains and additives, as well as aromas, that rodents like most, making it highly palatability. As with Syngenta’s other rodenticides, the product has a strong bitter taste to prevent accidental intake by children. 

The bait is also covered by a paraffin layer so that it remains stable for a long time, increasing its durability. This coating also makes it highly resistant to humidity and heat. The product comes in 20 gram bait boxes, waxed and designed in a hexagon shape, with a hole in the center to easily place it on the skewers of bait boxes. 

But Klerat Block XT is not only easy to use, durable, resistant and highly palatable, it has also been shown to be totally effective. In tests carried out in cattle and chicken farms with estimated populations of 70 rats and 45 mice and abundant supplies of forage and feed, the results were clear. In rats, an adequate dose of the product achieved a 100% mortality in 14 days. In mice, with a lower dose, a 100% mortality was achieved in only 12 days. 

In short, Klerat Block XT is a very effective rodenticide at low doses, high quality and durable, resistant to humidity and heat, easy to use, and can be applied in buildings, houses, warehouses, agricultural and livestock farms, garages and gardens with total confidence.
