UPL Brasil ended its fiscal year (April 2019 to March 2020) with a 17% growth. The company's sales reached US$1.3 billion. According to President, Fabio Torretta, this result stems from the perfect integration process after the acquisition of Arysta LifeScience and the focus on plant health. “Food safety, lower environmental impact and sustainable production: these are the three pillars that guide the work of UPL in Brazil. Add to them the OpenAg proposal of open innovation, which presupposes the sum of forces of all the players in the production chain,” said Torretta.

The performance of UPL is highlighted in a year during which the market of pesticides effectively (applied products) grew 5.8%, according to the National Union of the Plant Defense Industry (Sindiveg). “Another important factor is that this was the first year of integration of the two companies. We took advantage of many synergies, expanded our portfolio with innovative solutions, worked with assertiveness and strengthened our work in the field. All of this, together, made the excellent performance possible,” said the president of UPL Brasil.

Another point to consider is that this result accelerates the participation of UPL in the Brazilian pesticide market, in addition to advancing in one year the goal of reaching revenues of $1.5 billion. "We must reach this level in 2021," said Torretta. With the result, UPL also moved up one position in the ranking of the largest in the sector, reaching the 4th position.
