In this interview, recently appointed FMC Brasil Marketing Director Daniela Tavares exclusively talked about the company’s new project and the future challenges facing the largest agrochemical market in the world.
Tell us a little about your experience.
I have a BA in Production Engineering from Centro Universitário FEI and an MBA in Strategic Marketing from ESPM. With over 20 years of experience in the global chemical and agribusiness market, I have worked in business management, company mergers, and marketing and sales, while always looking to provide the best customer experience. Currently, I hold the position of Marketing Director at FMC Brasil.
How would you describe FMC’s new marketing project and challenges?
This mission is challenging. FMC Brasil has more than doubled in size in three years and the plan is to continue growing. I am sure that, together with my team, we will contribute to deliver the best solutions and technologies with quality and sustainability to producers, and we will invest heavily in research and development. It is a pleasure to work for an agribusiness company that aims to achieve its development through its proximity to Brazilian farmers, and has recently also been recognized in the categories of “Best R&D Pipeline,” “Best Innovation in Application Technology” and others.
What are the company's plans for this year and in the medium-term?
We know the importance of soy in national agribusiness. For this reason, we are taking the initiative to encourage and analyze the challenges and developments in this sector that affect the fields of the whole country. Under the motto, “It is more productive when we do it together,” the Soja Project will promote a series of initiatives to bring together all the links in the chain, bringing relevant information and increasingly our understanding of the sector’s demands, to continue investing in innovative and sustainable solutions that bring added value to rural producers. FMC has great expansion potential in soybean and other crop markets, as well as in sugarcane and cotton markets, where we play a leading market role with ample capacity for innovation, research and development, in addition to having a robust and efficient infrastructure.
FMC is a company that focuses on innovation and is committed to the discovery of new active principles, new product formulations and new application technologies. From our market-leading discovery pipeline, to our state-of-the-art application systems and modern biological products, we are passionate about bringing innovation to products around the world. We have over 20 field stations that enable us to test new products and formulations worldwide, expanding our reach and helping us to better understand the needs, opportunities and peculiarities of each region, therefore, improving the growth of agriculture through sustainable crop protection.
What news and releases are being prepared?
We are developing and approving new molecules for the coming years. In a time of constant change and consolidation in the industry, we are preparing for the future and are focused on the next stage of innovation, geographic balance and global reach, which will create opportunities and ensure growth potential in everything we do. With the capacity to develop and research herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, biologicals and plant health, we will have greater control over the fate of our own products and long-term future.
