Corteva Agriscience announced last Friday that it has received the first European product registration within the Inatreq™ active (fenpicoxamid) family of products.

Questar™ fungicide with Inatreq™ active, now approved for sale in France, is a new, naturally derived fungicide that offers market-leading curative and protectant control on all Septoria strains, supporting a long-term sustainable fungicide strategy on farms.

The product will be available for sale in France starting in late 2020 for the 2021 growing season. The next country registrations for Inatreq products, anticipated within the coming year, will offer new disease control solutions for cereal farmers in the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark and, subsequently, all relevant European markets.

“Ultimately, this new solution will help control Septoria, the biggest disease affecting wheat yields and of greatest concern to farmers,” said Jean-Philippe Legendre, France Director, Corteva Agriscience. “Resulting from the pioneering work of Corteva Agriscience researchers, this new fungicide will meet the challenges of sustainable management and respond to our farmers' desire for innovation to help them better protect their crops."

Inatreq offers outstanding biology performance, and its unique target site for Septoria gives farmers a new tool to help manage the disease, as it shows no cross-resistance to existing cereal fungicide chemistries. Farmers also will benefit from its flexible application characteristics and consistent, broad-spectrum performance.

“Inatreq is the latest solution coming from our robust pipeline of innovative technologies,” said Susanne Wasson, President, Crop Protection Business Platform, Corteva Agriscience. “We’re excited to continue building on our portfolio of natural products. Thanks to the natural origin of Inatreq, we also are meeting European consumer demands for more sustainably produced food.”*

The Inatreq active substance also protects bananas from the key disease Black Sigatoka. Several countries, including Belize, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Ivory Coast and Panama, have registered Kyventiq™ fungicide with Inatreq™ active for use on bananas.
