Oro Agri's biocontrol product Orocide registered in Spain

ORO AGRI, an OMNIA Group company, has registered its new insecticide/acaricide/fungicide Orocide, in Spain. This new plant protection product has recently been approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and is based on Orange Oil, an active substance of natural origin. The product has been authorized for use on 36 crops including: vines, vegetables and top fruit.

Orocide has been approved for the control of: mites, leafhoppers and powdery mildew in berries; powdery mildew, mites, whitefly, leafhopper, psyllid and mealybugs in top fruit, and against downy and powdery mildew, whitefly and thrips in vegetables. In vines it can be used to control downy and powdery mildew, leafhopper and mites.

Carol Pullen, General Manager, ORO AGRI Europe comments: “This new biopesticide fulfils the most demanding needs of the market. On the one hand it offers a rapid and robust knock-down effect on target pests and for the other has no defined pre-harvest interval (PHI) or re-entry period. It is also safe to use with biological control programs since it has a low impact on beneficial insects and mites – perfect for an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach.”

Orocide contains effective built-in adjuvants that provides a spray pattern that fully covers the leaves and allows penetration of the canopy. The physical mode of action of OROCIDE minimizes the risk of resistance to the active ingredient, so it can frequently be used against insects and/or mites and can even solve possible resistances to other active substances used in spray programs.

Orocide is an environmentally friendly product and an excellent addition to any grower's "toolbox". It comes well in time for the coming season and is the perfect solution for the farmer and grower.
