In November 2010, China produced 254,000 tons of pesticides, up 22.7% year on year. But insecticides and fungicides have reflected muted production growth. The output for insecticides and fungicides was 77,117 tons, up 8.7% and 19,156 tons for fungicide, up 4.0%. The herbicides have the largest output of 99,146 tons, up 20.1%. Larger output amplitudes for sterilants, PGRs and other products were presumable.
Cumulative pesticide output from January to November was 2.48 million tons, grown by 20.7%, consisting of 787,000 tons of insecticides, up 10.6% year on year; 178,000 tons of fungicides, down 20.2%; 994,000 tons of herbicides, up 34.8%. Herbicides account for the largest proportion of the total pesticides output with its 40% share, up 4.2% year on year. The proportion for insecticides and fungicides were 31.7% and 7.1%, deceased by 2.8% and 3.6% respectively.
The six major provinces of pesticides production (Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Hunan, Hubei, and Anhui) accounted for 75.7% of the total output, posted larger share than last year.
