According to the CCPIA, the newly edited “Five Years Plan for the pesticide industry” has been submitted to their superior authority for ratifying.
The plan request that to cultivate several international competitive pesticide companies like Wynca, Redsun, Yangnong, Lierchem and Noposion. The Plan illustrated the idea that to further centralized the pesticide producers. It plans to reduce number of pesticide companies to 300 by 2015, of which 5 with annual sales of more than 5 billion Yuan and 20 with annual sales of 2 billion Yuan. It also intends to concentrate 50% of the total pesticides output to top 20 producers and built 3 -5 large professional industrial parks.
Indeed, many Chinese companies have made great effort in strengthening themselves through M&A activities. ChemChina, a state-owned enterprise, signed merger agreement with MAI early this month (Agronews 2010-1-10), Lierchem, announced to acquire 51% stake on Kuaida late last year.
The Plan also indicate on energy conservation and pollution reduction targets of cutting 15% "Three wastes" emissions and increasing efficiency of production and recovery by 5% and 30% respectively.
It stresses some perspective for the industry as well: The successive and automotive production could be achieved by the scaled companies; the quality for some conventional products could reach the international advanced level; develop some new products with international competitiveness.
