Red Surcos to explain developments in nanotechnology for herbicide formulation

Testing of the herbicide, Dédalo Elite, showcased its great comparative advantages and benefits, resulting in a much safer product than traditional formulations.
Sebastián Calvo, executive president of Red Surcos, will speak during the show that will take place from March 10 to 13 in San Nicolás, about the developments on which the company is working to change the paradigms of agriculture. The use of nanotechnology allowed in the case of Dédalo Elite to achieve a formulation of 2,4-D, uses up to 50% less active ingredients per hectare to exercise the desired control and possess low odor and low volatility. In addition, it is not inactivated in hard waters, dispenses with the use of any adjuvant and, offers high compatibility in tank mixtures, which avoids the clogging of peaks and ensures a homogeneous dosage.For more than 10 years, Red Surcos has been a pioneer in the application of nanotechnology on phytosanitary products. It is a national technology that has already treated more than 10 million hectares of agriculture and that in recent years has been registered in Latin American and the European countries. While controlling and compressing matter on nanometric scales, completely new phenomena and properties are presented. The assets formulated with nanotechnology offer agronomic, practical and environmental benefits, and allow already known phytosanitary products, of proven efficacy in agricultural systems, such as 2.4-D, to significantly increase their bioefficacy and bioavailability.
This achieves a greater specific contact surface and a greater diffusion capacity to penetrate weeds. In this way, volatility is reduced up to 400 times compared to other formulations.
This is essential in times where the productive demands are increasing (increase of resistant weeds, absence of new assets) and environmental care becomes an unavoidable aspect.
