Serbian wholesaler of pesticides, seeds and garden appliances Agromarket has acquired Slovenia's largest seed producer and seller Semenarna Ljubljana, Slovenian media reported.
Agromarket, owned by Serbian citizen Dusan Mojsilovic, has also bought the outstanding claims against Semenarna held by the Bank Assets Management Company (DUTB), Slovenia's 'bad bank', news daily Delo reported on Tuesday.
The Slovenian company was 100%-owned by local lender Dezelna Banka as at the end of 2018, according to Dezelna's most recent annual report available.
Semenarna is active in the research, production and sale of products for gardeners and farmers.
In June 2018, the European Commission gave permission to the Slovenian authorities to grant Semenarna a 3 million euro ($3.3 million) long-term loan as part of a financial restructuring plan agreed with its main creditors.
