Sergi Vizoso will be BASF's new Senior Vice President from January 2020. Born in Barcelona, he is responsible for BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division in Latin America and has more than 20 years of experience in the company.
Vizoso will take over the position held by Eduardo Leduc for the last 10 years. Leduc is retiring after his 35-year-long career at BASF.
With a background in Chemistry and Business Administration, Vizoso has served since 2016 as Vice President of BASF in Central Europe, based in the Czech Republic. His career at the multinational began in 1997 in Spain. The executive had previously worked for the company in Brazil from 2003 to 2008, leaving the country as regional director of Strategic Marketing for Latin America. Vizoso also served at BASF in Germany, the United States, Italy and Russia.
The new vice president will prioritize continuing the growth of the Agricultural Solutions Division in Latin America. To this end, he intends to further integrate the company's seed, crop protection and digital agriculture business and implement the new BASF strategy announced this year.
“BASF has defined its strategy focusing on our customers' production systems. With the expansion of our portfolio of solutions and services that took place in 2018, we started to follow all phases of crops. We are prepared to become the best partners of Latin American farmers. Therefore, we are optimistic about the prospect of business growth in the continent,” explained Vizoso.
