On November 26, 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China issued an announcement approving BASF (China) Co., Ltd as a pesticide registration testing unit. Its scope of testing covers the efficacy test of agricultural and forestry pesticides, including insecticides, fungicides and herbicides.
The pesticide registration testing facility of BASF (China) is situated within the BASF Shanghai Agricultural Testing Station, which is located in Zhuangxing Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai. The testing station was built in 2011, having begun its agricultural testing service since 2013.
The testing station can accommodate the cultivation of field crops, including rice, wheat, corn and a variety of vegetables and fruits. In the early stages, it used to be engaged in research and development, as well as the efficacy test of the company's pesticides.
The granting of testing qualification to the BASF Shanghai Agricultural Testing Station shows that the quality system and efficacy test of the BASF Shanghai Agricultural Testing Station have reached China’s national registration and testing requirement. This indicates that the efficacy test report covering agricultural and forestry pesticides (insecticides, fungicides, herbicides) conducted by the BASF Shanghai Agricultural Testing Station is eligible for the application of pesticide registration in the Greater China Region.
