Chlorantraniliprole granted registration for application to sweet potato for the first time in China

On November 22, the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture of China (ICAMA) granted the registration of 200 g/l chlorantraniliprole SC, filed by Syngenta, to be applied to control the lawn armyworm and sweet potato prodenia litura. This is the first time the registration of chlorantraniliprole has been approved for application on lawn and sweet potatoes.
Earlier, chlorantraniliprole products (single agent and formulation) were registered for application on corn, rice, cotton, sugarcane and soybeans.
Until now, four manufacturers have been granted registration of the chlorantraniliprole technical in China, comprising DuPont US (95.3%), DuPont China (95.3%), Inner Mongolia Inner Mongolia Lingsheng Crop Science (95.3%) and Shandong Weifang Rainbow Chemical (98%). Except for these, no other manufacturers have ever been granted any chlorantraniliprole registrations.
