Canadian row crop and specialty crop growers have a new tool to battle tough weeds. UPL AgroSolutions Canada Inc. announces the Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency has approved the registration of KOMODO™ Herbicide, a Group 15 herbicide that provides selective early season weed control in corn, soybeans, dry beans and a wide variety of horticulture crops.
KOMODO is the first alternative S-metolachlor product marketed in Canada that includes benoxacor safener, which provides targeted weed control solutions with improved safety and efficacy on a wider number of crops.
“The introduction of KOMODO to the eastern Canadian market will be a real game changer to Canadian growers,” said Craig Brekkas, Country Head, UPL AgroSolutions Canada. “The addition of KOMODO herbicide to the UPL portfolio in Canada will provide growers a great new choice for control of annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds.”
Supportive to Canada’s rapidly growing soybean market
KOMODO is one of the first products to support the relaunch of UPL’s soybean solution portfolio in eastern Canada.
“We continue to look for new ways to provide solutions for growers,” Brekkas said. “As farmers seek new solutions for their soybean and corn crop rotations, we are excited to provide KOMODO as a progressive option to support their weed control strategies.”
Flexible application timing
KOMODO’s addition of the benoxacor safener improves the product’s safety and efficacy in both pre- and post-emergent applications with a premium product assurance for growers.
With powerful early season residual weed control, KOMODO offers a flexible application timing for most crops. Whether applied as a pre-plant, at-planting or post-emergent, KOMODO is an excellent tool to incorporate into a resistance management strategy.
