The Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CEPYME) wanted to highlight the value generated by AlgaEnergy in the marketplace through its technological innovation.
AlgaEnergy adds another success to its long list of public awards. The Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CEPYME) has granted AlgaEnergy the 2019 CEPYME Award in the category of Technological Innovation. The delivery of the CEPYME awards in its VI edition took place on November 6th in the auditorium of Banco Santander, in Madrid. The CEPYME Awards, which recognize the achievements of small and medium enterprises and their contribution to economic and social progress as well as job creation in our country, count on the Monarchy of Spain as honorary chairpersons.
The President of AlgaEnergy, Augusto Rodriguez-Villa, has received the prize from the Minister of Economy and Business of the Government of Spain in office, Nadia Calviño. Rodríguez-Villa has stressed that “R&D is in our DNA. Innovation is our origin, but also our future”. It´s not in vain that the company leads or participates in more than 20 R&D projects at international level, which amount to about 80 million Euros of investment and in which the company collaborates with more than 150 world-class scientific partners, always as the only microalgae company.
Rodríguez-Villa has pointed out that “it is undoubtedly a magnificent distinction for AlgaEnergy and a pride for the company’s human team. This award, one of the most prestigious in Spain, is a recognition to our firm commitment to R&D and the many resources that we dedicate in that area, fortunately with extraordinary results”, he added.
In fact, after having dedicated its first 8 years exclusively to research, AlgaEnergy has been able to develop microalgae-based products, which are disruptive, unique worldwide and that, due to their characteristics and efficiency, are revolutionizing many different sectors, and in particular international agriculture, and shortly other sectors such as cosmetics and human nutrition, amongst others.
