“The opening of the Greenville plant is a milestone for Nufarm’s business. It broadens our manufacturing footprint beyond our facilities in Chicago to a true North American based platform,” said Nufarm CEO Greg Hunt. “This is a facility where we can work more closely with our distribution partners to service the needs of farmers.”
The facility will support Nufarm’s expanding portfolio and give customers reliable access to high-quality crop protection products. State-of-the-art plant capabilities will help satisfy the distribution channel’s increasing need for just-in-time inventory.
“The world recognizes the quality of products manufactured in Mississippi…so we welcome Nufarm here,” said Governor Bryant. “I want to thank you for the millions of dollars of investment made here. The protection for crops into the future that Nufarm’s going to offer will have residual effects.”
Also welcoming Nufarm was Commissioner Gipson. “As a leading national and international crop protection company, you have selected just the right place to locate this great facility. Washington County is known as the single most productive county when it comes to agriculture…the perfect place for Nufarm.”
In addition to the positive agricultural impact of Nufarm Greenville, the plant will employ 68 and was named by Trade & Industry Development as a 2019 Top-15 Community Impact Award winner. Recipients are chosen for their ability to benefit the economy, enhance quality of life and build stronger communities in a specific region.
