Jura® is a mixture of two active ingredients, Prosulfocarb (667 g/L) and Diflufenican (14 g/L) in an EC formulation, guaranteeing excellent control of numerous dicotyledonous weeds and graminaceous plants, which are difficult to contain during post-emergency.
The product’s action against ryegrass, alopecurus and oat spp also makes it an effective weapon for farmers, even in the most difficult conditions where resistance to other herbicides is present.
From numerous tests on durum and tender wheat conducted in various regions by Belchim Crop Protection, positive results have emerged in terms of efficiency and selectivity.
In two test applications during pre-emergency and early post-emergency, the synergistic and complementary actions of the two active ingredients were evident. Prosulfocarb acts on weeds during the germination phase, causing growth to stop and deforming shoots until seedlings die. Diflufenican causes tissue bleaching and the decomposition of weed cells.
The surface expansion of weeds resistant to ALS and ACcase mechanisms of action reaffirms the importance of introducing new active ingredients as an alternative to those already commonly used, which weeds are now resistant to.
Combating and managing resistance is the ultimate goal. Therefore, Jura aims to be an effective tool for eliminating difficult grasses at an early stage and preventing them from competing with crops.
Also usable on barley, rye and triticale, Jura® can meet the needs of farmers of crops other than wheat.
To ensure successful treatment, the product must be used correctly and decisively, and good agronomic practices must be adopted, such as preparing well-refined soil without excessive clod and with a uniform burial of seeds, avoiding the application of asphyxiated soil or soil with obvious water stagnation, preparing pre-emergency applications with sufficient soil moisture, and predicting rainfall to ensure the prompt activation of Jura’s active substances.
With regards to fungal diseases, Belchim Crop Protection announced the launch of Faxer® (Prochloraz 450 g/L), which is a fungicide that prevents cures and eradicates fungal diseases through its translaminar and contact action. Effective against Septoria and Cercosporella at a dose of 1L/ha and a maximum of two applications per year, Faxer® can be used on wheat, oat, triticale and rye.
Combining it with Buzz Ultra DF® (Tebuconazole 750 g / kg) completes and consolidates its action against septoria and wheat foot diseases. The product can be used on wheat at a dose of 330 g/ha during the crop preparation phase.
