Eurofins Agroscience Services announced the addition of a second Field Station in Brazil.

Situated in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais state, a strategic state in central-western Brazil, the facility is located on more than 21 acres of arable land. Key crops in the region include soybean, corn, cotton, sugar-cane, coffee, tomato, potato, and vegetables. A team of experienced agronomists can conduct a variety of trials from the new facility including Ecotoxicology, Efficacy, GM and Residue studies. The climate conditions are varied but mild, allowing trials to be conducted all year long, with higher precipitation from October to March.

During August, the team at the new station hosted an Open Day and welcomed clients, partners and government agencies. This facility in Minas Gerais is the second of the three field stations that will be added to the portfolio this year in LATAM and follows quickly after the previously reported station addition in São Paulo state. The third remaining station, planned for Paraná State, is expected to be ready during late Q4 2019.

Marcos de Ferran, GM EAS LATAM, says of the expansion plans “We continue to expand our field capacity and portfolio throughout Brazil. Uberlândia is a key region for product development to our clients and we can now offer them high quality and fully compliant studies in that region. It will also allow us to move forward in a position of strength, making Eurofins Agroscience Services the best partner CRO for the agroscience regulatory industry and for product development projects in Brazil.”
