AgroPages-Nufarm loses deputy chairman-Agricultural news

Nufarm deputy chairman Doug Curlewis will step down from the embattled crop protection groups board after its annual meeting on Thursday after a decade as a director of the company.

Nufarm is also recruiting a second director to its board after chairman Kerry Hoggard retired earlier in the year due to illness.

Nufarm, which is under pressure to make management changes after a series of profit downgrades this year, is in marathon talks with its banks to refinance facilities by December 15.

Chairman Donald McGauchie said board renewal was important to strengthen the business and it was looking to get the right mix of skills to help Nufarm get back to a position to generate "strong shareholder value", The Australian Financial Review reports.
