On August 22, global seed enhancement company Incotec will officially open its newest facility in Kedah, Malaysia. The official opening of the new facility will be performed by the Chief Minister Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, and by Erik Jan Bartels, Managing Director of Incotec.
Rice is an important staple food for Malaysia. At the facility Incotec Kedah, rice will be treated with an innovative new seed treatment product for rice, PaddyRise™, that makes young rice plants stronger and more resilient. Stronger plants will need less plant protection products resulting in reliable and responsible food production and nutrition. This offers farmers an opportunity to strengthen Malaysia’s independence in food security while improving their incomes. This initiative fits well within Incotec’s mission of contributing to feeding the world by getting the utmost out of seed. It also supports Incotec’s Mission Zero strategy to always look for the most sustainable way to help customers achieve their goals.
PaddyRise
Incotec’s PaddyRise™ is a film coat for rice seed with a naturally derived biostimulant incorporated into it. It optimises yield potential, makes young plants more resilient to pests and disease and reduces the need for plant protection products (PPPs). This offers farmers a great opportunity to increase their earnings.
