Marrone Bio Innovations announces that its novel biofungicide, Regalia® MAXX, has been registered for use in Turkey on greenhouse tomatoes. It is marketed under the brand name “Vertisol" by agricultural distributor Boyut Dis Ticaret Ltd. Of Istanbul, Turkey.
Vertisol provides Turkish growers with a valuable new tool for tough diseases of tomatoes and further offers resistance and residue management, improved efficacy in tank mixes, and better crop quality.
The product works by triggering the natural defense systems of plants to protect against a variety of fungal and bacterial pathogens. It can be used in tank mixes, program rotations, or as a stand-alone treatment. Vertisol has a zero day pre-harvest interval and is exempt from tolerance requirements in or on all food commodities.
In the USA, the product is also recognized for use in certified organic production, and efforts are underway to secure similar recognition in Turkey.
