AgBiome Innovations Inc, the commercial organization of AgBiome, and Sumitomo Corporation announced a joint development, registration, and commercialization agreement for AgBiome’s broad spectrum bio-fungicide Howler™ in the crop and non-crop agriculture markets in Mexico. The development and commercialization activities will be done by Summit Agro Mexico S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation.

"This is an exciting step forward in expanding AgBiome Innovations footprint globally. We are pleased to be working with Sumitomo Corporation and Summit Agro Mexico S.A. de C.V. to develop Howler for the Mexican market. Summit Agro Mexico will work closely with AgBiome Innovations in registering Howler with Mexican regulatory authorities and its commercial launch in the region,” stated Toni Bucci, Chief Operating Officer at AgBiome Innovations.

Howler™ is a revolutionary fungicide that harnesses the power of the plant microbiome to create an efficacious fungicide with multiple modes of action that provide preventive, long-lasting activity on a broad spectrum of soilborne and foliar diseases. Howler can be used effectively at every phase of production: greenhouse, planting, early plants, maturing plants, harvest and post-harvest applications.

Under this agreement Summit Agro Mexico S.A. de CV. will develop the completed registration for Howler fungicide in Mexico for use in crop and non-crop segments. Summit Agro Mexico S.A. de C.V. will have certain rights to distribute Howler Fungicide for crop protection applications in Mexico.

"AgBiome Innovations represents a new research approach for developing innovative biological products for the growing needs of the global Crop Protection market. We value our relationship with AgBiome and look forward to the collaboration.” says Kazuma Suzuki, General Manager of AgriScience Dept. at Sumitomo Corporation.

“We are excited to join with AgBiome Innovations to bring much needed solutions to Crop Protection, and Howler will be an important product in our increasing portfolio of products focused on efficacy and sustainability in meeting the needs of the Mexican growers,” says Jorge Fernàndez, President, Summit Agro Mexico.
