AgroPages-Agrium Acquires Miles Farm Supply’s crop protection business-Agricultural news

Agrium Retail has completed its purchase of the crop protection business of Miles Farm Supply of Owensboro, KY, which ranked No. 18 in the 2009 CropLife 100 retailers.

Through the acquisition, Agrium Retail adds 19 retail outlets – 16 in Kentucky, two in Indiana and one in Tennessee. “We will be operating all those outlets,” says Jeff Tarsi, Agrium Retail’s vice president of business strategies. “Kentucky was a gap area for us, so it’s really a nice fit for the company.”

The purchase did not include any of Miles businesses outside of retail crop protection. No other details of the deal were made available by Agrium Retail.

Agrium Retail is currently ranked No. 1 on the CropLife 100.
