Corteva agriscience has obtained emergency authorization in Italy for its Loyant™ 1.0 herbicide (containing florpyrauxifen-benzyl, trademarked as Rinskor™) for use in rice cultivation. The executive decree of the Ministry of Health allows the marketing and use of Loyant™ 1.0 from April 1 to July 29, 2019, as specified in the authorized label.
Loyant™ 1.0 is characterized by a wide spectrum of action on the main weed of the rice: broadleaf, grass, sedge and aquatic weed. It is therefore active on both monocotyledons and dicotyledons. It carries out its activity exclusively in post-emergence.
Loyant™ 1.0 is the new tool for the control of resistant weeds. Loyant™ 1.0 presents an alternative mechanism of action, which allows a high efficacy on the main rice weeds, including resistant biotypes. As a member of the arylpicolinate family, Loyant™ 1.0 is characterized by an alternative site of action, different from that of the other auxin herbicides.
Loyant™ 1.0 is effective in the most varied climatic and agronomic conditions regardless of the type of rice cultivation (underground sowing in rows or in water, conventional or tolerant varieties of imidazolinone/aryloxyphenoxypropionate and cyclohexenones). It is highly compatible and miscible with the main commercially available herbicides.
