The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture created a Technical Working Group (GTT) to deal with the creation and implementation of the National Program of Inputs for Organic Agriculture - Programa Bioinsumos.
The group, under the coordination of the Secretariat of Innovation, Rural Development and Irrigation, will be composed of representatives of the Secretariats of Agricultural Defense, Agricultural Policy and Family Agriculture and Cooperativism. Representatives will be appointed within the next few days.
The bio-inputs include seeds, fertilizers, plant and animal nutrition products, biological pesticides made from microorganisms for pest control, homeopathic products or technologies that have biological assets in the composition.
"The goal is to look at what we have today, what inputs are involved, what the situation is and what it is feasible to do. The expectation is that the program will organize the process to boost the sector, which has grown in the country," said the biologist Mariane Carvalho, head of the Division of New Inputs of the Ministry of Innovation.
