Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBI) announced that Brian Guess has joined as Southwest U.S. Territory Sales Manager.
Guess brings a wealth of experience in organic and conventional growing operations to MBI, having spent over 12 years in all aspects of growing operations across multiple firms. Most recently, Guess was the Director of Field Operations for LIV Organic Produce. He oversaw all areas of field operations including the food safety program and vendor compliance systems. Prior to this role, he managed regional grower operations in Southern California for Homegrown Organic Farms, leading all aspects of in-house farm management to ensure the highest dollar per acre return was achieved. Additionally, Guess held roles of increasing responsibility with growers such as Baloian Farms in Fresno, California and manufacturers such as Helena Chemical.
In his role at MBI, Guess will focus on driving increased revenue growth in the Southwest U.S. territory by building and overseeing full sales cycle activities. He will be responsible for developing and implementing a territory plan and expanding the company’s customer base and presence of MBI products in Southern California and Arizona. He will also work closely with marketing, field development and other internal teams to ensure the alignment of strategic sales goals throughout the organization.
Guess holds a Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Agricultural Business from California State University, Fresno. Guess is currently working towards his PCA and CCA certification and expects to complete both by the end of 2019.
“Guess’s background in agricultural practices will be a key component to creating innovative biological integrated pest management programs to improve pest and disease control,” said Barner Jones, Director of Sales and Account Management at Marrone Bio Innovations. “It’s this development, implementation, and improvement of pest management and control strategies that contribute significantly to maintaining the competitiveness and vitality of U.S. agriculture - therefore improving the quality and security of our food and fiber supply. I am excited to have Guess join the MBI family and look forward to building on the legacy of leadership, innovation and customer service that has been established at the company.”
