Brazilian agrochemical company CropChem has announced the launch of fungicide Kazan Max 750 WG (Mancozeb). The product, registered in January 2019, is recommended for the control of Asian rust (
Phakopsora pachyrhizi), one of the major problems for soybeans in Brazil.
As it is a multisite fungicide, the Kazan Max 750 WG has a formula that attacks several points of fungus metabolism. The active ingredient, mancozeb, has been well indicated by Brazilian agronomists as an alternative to the products already existing in the market aimed at handling Asian rust.
Mancozeb is a dithiocarbamate fungicide with protective action on contact, also possessing acaricidal action. In addition to soybeans, the Kazan Max 750 WG is also suitable for other crops.
In cotton, the fungicide controls Ramularia areola, while in rice, it fights Pyricularia grisea, and Mycosphaerella fijiensis in bananas. In potatoes, the product is efficient against Alternaria solani and Phytophthora infestans, while in beans, it combats Colletotrichum lindemuthianum.
This product could also be used for the control of Phaeosphaeria maydis on corn, Pintaro (Alternaria solani) and Requeima (Phytophthora infestans) on tomatoes, Venturia inaequalis on apples, Plasmopara viticola on grapes, and rust (Phyllocoptruta oleivora) and black spot (Phyllosticta citricarpa) on apples.
In soybeans, besides Asian rust, the Kazan Max 750 WG is also recommended for the control of purple seed stain (Cercospora kikuchii), target spot (Corynespora cassiicola) and brown spot (Septoria glycines).
