Brazilian citrus sector updates list of authorized agrochemicals in the Ministry of Agriculture![qrcode]()

A new update of the PIC (Integrated Citrus Production) List was announced on December 3, which is the authorized agrochemical grid for the Citrus Integrated Production system of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA). According to Fundecitrus (Brazilian Fund for Citrus Defense), the new version of the PIC list also includes nine commercial brands.
The major changes are the exclusions of the cypermethrin and beta-cypermethrin molecules. The withdrawal occurred due to the lack of registration and maximum residue limit (MRL) established in the United States. The adjuvants have also been removed from the PIC List, since these inputs are no longer classified as agrochemicals by MAPA following Act No.104, published by the Ministry in November 2017, and no further authorization is required for its use.
According to Fundecitrus, the PIC List was created to "help the citrus grower conform to good agricultural practices and use only products authorized to defend orchards. A committee of research institutes, consultants and juice producing industries formulates and makes available to producers a grid of active ingredients in insecticides, acaricides, fungicides and herbicides, authorized for use within the Citrus Integrated Production program of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply ".
"This grid is updated periodically, in accordance with the policy of registration of molecules in Brazil and with the requirements of markets consuming products derived from citrus Brazilians. The grid is prepared with the agreement of MAPA, the National Agency of Sanitary Surveillance (Anvisa) and National Association of Plant Protection (Andef)," notes Fundecitrus.
