Biotechnica’s biostimulant, AlgaFlex is shortlisted for AgroPages Awards

United KingdomAgroPages Awards will be granted to Products with Incomparable Market Potential in China. This year, the top 10 overseas biopesticides, biostimulants and novel fertilisers will win the accolade. Many companies with interests in China’s markets have recommended their products to us, one of which is Biotechnica’s biostimulant, AlgaFlex.
Biotechnica is the largest manufacturer of seaweed extract biostimulants in the UK. Their product, AlgaFlex, derived from Ascophyllum nodosum, has been proven to enhance plant health and crop yield. AlgaFlex can be applied as an organic biofertiliser and biostimulant, providing a balanced nutrient source and promoting physiological responses for plants. This liquid product with concentrated seaweed extract also contributes to the activity of beneficial microbes.
The advantages of AlgaFlex make the product superior to competitor biostimulants. Within its 30% suspended solids, AlgaFlex has been independently assessed to have far more bioactive content than other seaweed-derived products. There are no chemicals involved in the extraction method for the production of AlgaFlex, thus the natural active content is preserved for crop uptake. The product is also certified for use in organic farming by internationally renowned institutions. Because of its pure natural extract, seed potatoes can be coated in AlgaFlex solution without harm to the tuber. Moreover, unlike many strongly alkaline seaweed products available on the market, AlgaFlex is naturally mildly acidic, allowing it to be applied with other fertilisers and reduces issues including fertiliser salt precipitation, spray nozzle blockages and nutrient loss.
In addition, AlgaFlex’s natural adjuvant characteristics increase trans laminate and stomata intake, and also phloem transport of bio-control and crop nutritional products, when combined in foliar applications.
Biotechnica has an established trustworthy British supply chain, from seaweed harvest in the unpolluted waters off the Irish coast to final processing. The company has been working with seaweed extract in this way for decades.
