On November 6, the pyraclostrobin·isoprothiolane 25% EW filed by Jiangsu Rotam Ltd was granted registration by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for application to control corn northern leaf blight, at a dosage of 60 to 80 ml per Mu via spraying. This is the first time China is registering isoprothiolane for application on corn.

Prior to this, isoprothiolane and its formulations were granted registration by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for application to control rice blast, rice damping off, tobacco black shank, tobacco damping off and watermelon blight.

Isoprothiolane is an organosulfureous fungicide, which is systemic, preventive, therapeutic, long lasting, low toxic and is against rain wash. It has a very evident efficacy on the control of rice blast, being also effective to a certain extent on the control of rice sheath blight disease, culm rot and bacterial blight.
