Sales of Nissan Chemical’s Agricultural Chemicals Segment rose by 9.7% to 28,680 million yen (252.5 million USD at the current rate) in the first half year ended September 30, 2018 and operating income was increased by 21.1% to 9,846 million yen (86.7 million USD).
Shipments of Fluralaner remained steady. Sales of "Round-up" (non-selective herbicide) decreased due to the impact of earlier shipments in the previous fiscal year, intense heat and natural disasters in Japan. Sales of "ALTAIR" (paddy rice herbicide) decreased due to the oversea shipment time shift after October, however sales of other oversea agrochemicals was steady.
The company expects that the full year sales of this segment could achieve 62.6 billion yen (551.2 million USD), and operating income will reach 18.4 billion yen (162 million USD).
