As delegated by Shenyang Sinochem Agrochemicals R&D Ltd, on the 24th October 2018 the China Association of Agricultural Science Societies organized a team of 13 experts, including academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, university professors and researchers, to conduct an evaluation of the research achievement “creation and application of botanical fungicide coumoxystrobin and its synergistic effect”, which was completed by Professor Liu Changling’s team from Shenyang Sinochem Agrochemicals R&D Ltd.
After questions and answers, the experts reached a consensus on the following:
The research achievement has covered the molecular design and synthesis of fungicides based upon natural products, which resulted in the creation of the novel fungicide coumoxystrobin. A series of innovations have been made through active studying, toxicological testing, environmental safety assessments, synergistic composition studies and field applications. The research achievement is an apparent novelty, being both creative and practical, particularly in detailing how the efficacy and safety of coumoxystrobin surpassed the fungicide in international markets, thus reaching the internationally advanced level.
The research encompasses 40 invention patents in China, of which 1 patent won an Excellence Prize from the China Invention Awards. Among them, 5 patents also won invention patent authorizations in the US, Japan and EU. There are 34 SCI publication papers and 1 publication of a monograph.
About China Association of Agricultural Science Societies
The China Association of Agricultural Science Societies is the earliest third-party evaluation organization qualified for evaluation of research achievements, as endorsed by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology. From 2014 to 2018, more than 50% of the national award-winning agricultural research achievements every year were evaluated by the China Association of Agricultural Science Societies.
