In partnership with De Sangosse, Rizobacter presents to the market a new generation of baits for the control of oniscids. Its differential advantage is that it guarantees greater efficiency at a lower dose.
Direct sowing in Argentina continues its diffusion supported by notable advantages over other tillage systems, reaching 91% of the total arable area corresponding to the main extensive crops.
This practice allows to reduce erosion and accumulate in the soil a greater moisture reserve to increase long-term productivity. It considers three basic principles linked to the minimum removal of soil, crop diversity, and permanent soil cover. However, these characteristics have triggered the appearance of pests such as boll beetles associated with increased humidity and cover.
This plague is increasing with population densities and degrees of attack severity year after year, currently affects about 300 thousand hectares in the country concentrating the problem in the province of Córdoba and southeast of Buenos Aires.
The most important damages occur in soybean and sunflower, although they tend to spread to other crops such as corn, sorghum, chickpea and forage legumes. Also, some weeds act as a source of food and shelter.
The attacks in some cases are very voracious and sudden and may lead to partial or total reseeding depending on the cut of seedlings. They can harm far more advanced the crop, even eating leaves.
Rizobacter recommended monitoring the levels of the pest prior to planting through monitoring. Search in the sites of greater accumulation of stubble, since they are concentrated there and these groups can lower the stand of plants in patches.
Although the threshold of control is between 40 and 60 bugs per square meter for soybeans, the populations never behave the same. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate broader margins, and decrease populations prior to sowing to reduce the risk of attack. Granulated baits specially designed for their control are the most efficient products to treat this pest.
In response to this problem, Rizobacter launches in the Argentine market the new Clartex Xtra bait. This product is different because it includes Acetamiprid, the last generation active principle that guarantees superior performance with stable doses in a low range. As a result of its manufacture through the wet system, this technology ensures greater persistence in the lot, even in the face of unfavorable conditions. It has an optimum application capacity, due to a greater width of spreading.
To increase its effect, it combines specific flours and semolina to achieve a high attraction of the pest with a repulsive agent that avoids the intake by people or animals.
Clartex Xtra is the only product in the market for the control of bugs with a green band, because it is safe for users and balanced with the environment, respecting the beneficial fauna.
