Since Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply decided to no longer deem the registration of adjuvants as a necessity, new questions have cropped up in the sector. The decision was taken at the 9th meeting of the Agrochemicals Advisory Technical Committee held in November 2017.
Lawyer Camila Machado de Assunção from Andrade, Foz Advogados dedicated the last few months to analyzing the risks to companies and the legal loopholes that can be used by the fiscal authorities in the new scenario. According to her, these factors should be “carefully analyzed in a way to avoid potential liabilities”.
During the Brazil AgrochemShow 2018, the expert presented the impact of adjuvant taxes in Brazil coming from the recent changes in the sector regulations, which eliminated the requirements of registration under the Ministry for products characterized exclusively as adjuvants, as well as related problems. Besides, the speech mapped the juridical framework over the issue and the issues regarding the practical decisions of the committee.
Brazil AgrochemShow 2018 was held between August 7 and 8, 2018, at Hotel Maksoud Plaza in the state of São Paulo. The event was organized by AllierBrasil consultancy and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Sub-council of Chemical Industry (CCPIT CHEM). AgroPages attended the show as an exhibitor.
