Regional Marketing Group (RMG) Ghana Limited, a company dealing in farming inputs, has expanded its operations to the Ashanti Region - a move to support increased agricultural production.
Mr. William Kotey, the Managing Director, said its’ presence was to offer the farmer a wide range of choice through the company’s vast distribution network.
It would provide them with access to certified improved seeds, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides and farming implements.
RMG has been operating in the Greater, Brong-Ahafo and the Northern Regions.
Mr. Kotey, opening its Kumasi office in a ceremony, said the company’s focus was not only on inputs supply but to aid technology transfer to aid farmers to adopt best practices to substantially raise crop yield and returns.
That, he noted, was the way to achieve food security, assure farmers of sustainable incomes to transform their living conditions.
He said it was on the basis of this that over the past four years it has been actively assisting to expose farmers, who are into cocoa, maize, rice and vegetable cultivation, to new farming techniques.
Mr. Kotey said this had already begun to show good results as crop yield had gone up, adding that, the momentum would be sustained.
