It is reported that the locust plague is becoming increasingly seriously in western Hainan, China, 14,000 hectares of land were affected so far. The affected area might reach to 26,667 hectares if no effective measurement were adopted.
According to the analysis by the experts, the plague was germinate by the spring drought and favored by the subsequent moisture.
The Hainan agriculture office has urged the cities to get take disaster prevention measures. Special fund were allocated to purchase crop protection products.
