Arysta intends to launch seven new biopesticides this year in Brazil.
The president of Arysta for Latin America, Fábio Torreta, said the sales of the company in Brazil reached $415 million last year, 61.5% of the total revenue in Latin America, which was $675 million. Sales were expected to increase even more this year. “I believe that the market as a whole will grow around 8% and our sales will be 10% higher than 2017.”
The company expected biopesticides to make up 30% of the sales in Latin America in the future. According to the Brazilian Association of Biological Control Companies, while biopesticides grow between 10% and 12% a year in the world market, in Brazil this number gets to 15%.
“We see a double-digit growth in this line, around 20% of the company’s revenue comes from biological pesticides and 80% from chemical,” said Torreta.
If Arysta’s sales estimates are met, its revenue in Brazil can get to $460 million. This number can increase with the new launches, among them the two new herbicides for soybeans.
“We have three more in the pipeline, for which we will invest $30 million this year. It can take up to 10 years for the registration to be released. We can launch a new product for Asian Rust next year, but the registration will take years,” said Torreta.
