Gowan Crop Protection Limited (GCP) recently announced that zoxamide renewal has been approved and published in the Official Journal of the European Union on May 8th, 2018. The new regulation will apply starting July 1st, 2018 for a period of 15 years, expiring on June 30th, 2033.
Zoxamide is a highly active, low-use rate fungicide being developed globally to control Oomycete fungi infecting potatoes, vines and vegetables. Zoxamide exhibits strong preventative control of late blight and downy mildew diseases, combined with excellent rainfast and residual properties. It has a favourable toxicology profile and is rapidly degraded in the environment.
EU Product Manager, Giuseppe Padula said, “The renewal of zoxamide is a key milestone in the sustainable growth of Gowan’s business in Europe. The large amount of effort put into obtaining zoxamide’s renewal proves the high commitment of Gowan Company in the region and its focus on key markets.”
