Donald McGauchie appointed chairman of Nufarm

Mr Donald McGauchie has been confirmed as the new Chairman of Nufarm Limited. Mr McGauchie succeeds Mr Kerry Hoggard who has retired from the Nufarm Board due to serious health considerations.

Nufarm Managing Director, Doug Rathbone, said Mr Hoggard had indicated that he would be unable to fulfill his Chairman and Director duties over the short term and that he wished to spend more time with his family.

Mr Hoggard has had an association with Nufarm (and previously Fernz Corporation) for 53 years, and was Managing Director of Fernz between 1987 and 1999. He was elected Chairman of the company shortly before Fernz migrated its incorporation to Australia in 2000 and changed its name to Nufarm Limited.

"Kerry Hoggard’s contribution to this company has been immense", Mr Rathbone said. "In both managerial and non-executive director roles he has provided strong leadership, sound advice, and staunch support. He has been an engaged and questioning Chairman who has strongly represented the best interests of all Nufarm shareholders during his time on the Board.

"I have had a long professional association with Kerry and have greatly appreciated his counsel and support. On behalf of the Board, management and all Nufarm shareholders, I thank him for his contribution and wish him a speedy and complete recovery."

Mr Rathbone said Mr McGauchie brings a thorough understanding of the agricultural sector and international business to the Chairman’s role and will provide experienced Board leadership at a time when the company is rebuilding its profitability and growth profile. Mr McGauchie has been a Director of Nufarm since 2003.
