Asgrow brand Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybean seed proves to be tough competitor in Indiana soybean field

Impressed by early season performance, Lebanon, Ind., farmer Allen Mohler is already convinced that Asgrow® brand Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® is the soybean seed he will continue to plant next year.

This season, Mohler and his seed dealer, Bob Shands, of Co-Alliance, decided to run a test field of Asgrow Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield and a competitor brand soybean.

Mohler planted AG3430 brand, an Asgrow Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield variety with Acceleron™ seed treatment products, on half of the field and the competitor soybeans on the remainder. Mohler was impressed by the excellent stand of the Asgrow Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield. However, the untreated competitor brand had to be completely replanted due to poor emergence and feeding from seed corn maggots and bean leaf beetles.

"After the plants started to grow, it was obvious that the Asgrow Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield seed with Acceleron™ had a higher population of growth and stronger stand compared with the competitor brand that we’d planted,” Mohler said.
