Syngenta Crop Protection today announced that Agri-Flex Miticide/Insecticide received approval for use on citrus by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). State registrations or specific crop and/or pest uses may still be pending in certain states. Check with your state regulatory agency to determine registration status.
Agri-Flex offers citrus growers excellent control of the three most damaging citrus pests: Asian citrus psyllid, citrus leafminer and citrus rust mite in addition to adult root weevils, scales and other citrus pests. This robust combination of two reliable, industry-standard active ingredients – abamectin and thiamethoxam – provides rapid knockdown and rainfastness in the convenience of a premixed product.
"Agri-Flex combines two trusted active ingredients and conveniently and effectively targets the most damaging pests facing the industry,” said Lisa Moricle, insecticide brand manager at Syngenta. “Agri-Flex also fits well into a planned resistance management program, offering three modes of action when mixed with horticultural oil and does not flare secondary pests.”
Agri-Flex offers the convenience of a concentrated pre-mix and flexible timing and application methods when pests are the greatest threat. Additionally, the modern, concentrated, aqueous-based formulation eliminates volatile organic compound emissions and reduces container handling and disposal.
"Syngenta believes in the future of the Florida citrus industry and is committed to research locally at the Vero Beach Research Center, where we are actively replanting our research groves to serve the future research needs of the industry,” said Moricle. “As the industry recovers and moves forward, Agri-Flex will be a key tool in these efforts, providing broad spectrum control, rapid knockdown and residual control.”
