Syngenta's Blackleg fungicide Miravis to be registered by April in Australia

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) approval of MIRAVIS® from Syngenta is expected by April 2018 - in time for foliar application in canola.

MIRAVIS is Syngenta’s new foliar fungicide for the control of blackleg and white leaf spot and will be a step change for the control of blackleg.

MIRAVIS has a SDHI Mode of Action - ADEPIDYN™ - which is the first SDHI belonging to a new chemical group within FRAC Group 7 fungicides.

Syngenta Product Lead, Angus Rutherford, said the new fungicide is expected to significantly benefit Australian canola growers.

“MIRAVIS offers a step change in control versus current industry standards for blackleg,” Angus said.

“Local trials have shown consistent yield improvements of 10 to 15 per cent over Prosaro* and Aviator Xpro*."

“These are impressive results that will translate to a strong return on investment for growers in commercial crops.”

The high field potency and intrinsic activity of MIRAVIS delivers powerful and consistent performance.

It has excellent surface tenacity, fast uptake and optimal distribution within the plant to deliver effective and long-lasting control in variable conditions.

Syngenta will notify customers once registration has been received.
