Dow AgroSciences and Mycogen Seeds announce new leadership positions for Chris Garvey and Doug Vail.
In his new role as general manager for Mycogen Seeds, Garvey will be responsible for all aspects of marketing, sales, agronomy services and channel management.
"Garveys demonstrated experience with developing marketing seed strategy will be a tremendous asset to Mycogen Seeds," says Stan Howell, Vice President, North America, Dow AgroSciences.
In his previous roles at Dow AgroSciences, Garvey led the Seed Improvement Project and several seed company acquisitions and integrations.
Prior to joining Dow AgroSciences in 2002, Garvey worked for ICI Chemicals and the management consulting firm of Arthur D. Little. He is an alumnus of the University of Delaware, where he earned a bachelors degree in entomology and plant pathology as well as a masters degree in business administration.
Previous Mycogen Seeds general manager Doug Vail has been named Dow AgroSciences Next Enterprise Architecture (NEA) leader. In this newly created position, Vail will work to ensure incorporation of NEA, a new work processes information system. The system will provide enhanced functionality to managing all aspects of Dow AgroSciences.
"Vails diverse background within finance, customer service and commercial make him uniquely qualified for the NEA leader position," Howell says.
Vail has held various positions with Dow AgroSciences since 1989 and holds a bachelors degree and masters degree in agricultural economics from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
